Logo

The Mandate of the Board of Health is illustrated in our logo: its shape is that of a shield; the upper half represents the family and people of all ages served by the Health Unit; the lower portion is a large E made up of three lines in a wavy pattern resembling a flag and representing the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, the United Counties of Prescott and Russell and the City of Cornwall.

The suggestion of a flag moving in the breeze is meant to represent the promotional aspect of our work. The lower right half is the trillium, the flower emblem of Ontario.

Put together, the logo illustrates the mandate of the Health Unit to prevent disease and accident and protect and promote the health of the citizens of Eastern Ontario.

The colour green was chosen as a symbol of life, and also to reflect our largely rural population.
