Eastern Ontario Population Health Profile

The Government of Ontario, through the Ontario Health Protection and Promotion Act, requires each health unit across the province to assess the health status of its community on a regular basis. The purpose is to ensure that the programs and services provided by the health unit are designed to best answer the specific community needs of the area.

Community health status information includes data on the demographics, morbidity, mortality, reproductive outcomes, risk factor prevalence, dental health indices and health conditions that may be associated with health hazards.
