The Eastern Ontario Health Unit’s role is to protect the health and safety of communities by promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing diseases and injuries. In order to do so, the Health Unit partners up with community agencies and takes various measures such as health surveillance, education and advocacy for healthy public policies.
