Young Adult Centre (YAC)
The Young Adult Centre is a drop-in centre where teenagers can talk to a public health nurse about any health-related issue. Everything you say is confidential and you will never be judged. You can get one-on-one counselling on birth control, sexuality, relationships, lifestyle and life skills issues to help you decide what's best for you. You can also get Pap smears (to detect cervical cancer and some STDs) and treatment for some infections. The YAC also welcomes parents who wish to speak to a public health nurse on issues that are important to them and their teenagers, or who want to browse through the resources available on site.
