Energize
Some of the highest provincial rates of childhood obesity are found in Eastern Ontario. Unhealthy weight in children can lead to medical conditions that we normally see in middle-aged adults (e.g. hypertension, diabetes, and respiratory problems). To tackle this serious public health problem, the Eastern Ontario Health Unit has launched the Energize...Now for Tomorrow! program. Energize representatives are working hard throughout the community, schools, and workplaces to offer education, training, and networking opportunities with the aim of reducing the level of childhood obesity within the five Eastern Counties.
