  Drugs and Medications

When you consume drugs or medications, they're absorbed by your body and are passed on to the baby. Certain drugs like marijuana can make it more difficult for women to become pregnant. Marijuana and other drugs can also damage the fetus in the early months of pregnancy. Women trying to become pregnant should not consume any illegal drugs.

Medications can also affect the fetus. Before trying to become pregnant, you should make an appointment with your doctor or healthcare professional to discuss any medications you're currently taking. Over-the-counter medication can also affect the fetus. Always check with your pharmacist before taking any over-the-counter medication.
