Emergency Preparedness
The Eastern Ontario Health Unit has set up an emergency plan in the event of a health emergency or pandemic. The emergency plan covers the five counties of Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott and Russell and the city of Cornwall. You can find a copy of the Emergency Disaster Preparedness Plan and the EOHU Contingency Plan For Pandemic Influenza in the resources below. Prevention is key and the Health Unit recommends a number of health measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Municipalities and communities must also have an emergency plan that covers any type of emergency or disaster, and so should you and your family. Emergency preparedness starts at home. Be prepared for emergencies and plan for the unexpected.
